Due to circumstances beyond our control, Mountaineer Days will be celebrated June 29 through July 1, 2012.

We apologize for an inconvenience this may cause, but alll other events around the Fourth of July were scheduled by other groups for the weekend before the Fourth, and we had no choice but to change the date we had already selected.  If you called and asked for the dates and were told the following weekend, we hope you will be able to reschedule your plans and join us in June to celebrate the Fourth of July. 

Help Wanted

2012 will be the final year that Mary and Karen will be coordinating Mountaineer Days.  For the past ten years, it has been just the two of us organizing, setting up and cleaning up for the event.  Thankfully, the Fire Department took care of the parade, water battle and fireworks, but all other aspects from scheduling entertainment to finding vendors, to advertising was our responsibility - along with our full-time jobs.  Without the help of the Davis Center/Rubenstein Center residents, we would never have been able to get the CIty ready for the event or cleaned up afterwards.  Our families and friends were also extremely helpful to us during the festival, even though we never realized it until the year they weren't able to help us. 

We are willing to work with whomever will be taking over to get things organized for next year, and it would be nice for the person(s) taking over to assist with this year's festival.  There is quite a bit of work and coordination involved with putting everything together, and a committee of two is not enough. If you are interested in helping us out, please fill in the contact form on this site, or call Mary at 304-463-4131.
